Weapon description

COLT MODEL 1908 Hammerless pocket automatic pistol, manufacturer Colt Patent Fire Arms Manufacturing Company, caliber .380 ACP (Automatic Colt Pistol) European designation 9 mm Browning, manufactured in 1926, seven rounds (magazine capacity).

The pistol is marked on the left side of the slide with the manufacturer name – COLT´S PT.F.A.MFG.CO.HARTFORD, CT.U.S.A. Hartford, Connecticut, USA, the second line of which refers to patents including the dates PATENTED APR.20, 1897. DEC. 22, 1903. The weapon serial number is located on the pistol body under the marking. The end of the slide behind the 17 grooves bears a stamped Colt company logo, a prancing horse with two spears. The right side of the weapon slide under the cartridge ejection port is marked COLT AUTOMATIC, below that is the caliber designation CALIBER .380 HAMMERLESS.

The left side of the trigger guard root has a factory verification mark of letters V, P in a triangle (Verified Proof – tested). Above this mark is the number 1 as the control mark of the responsible employee. The worker control mark 48 is also located on the right side at the trigger guard root. The right side of the pistol body in front of the muzzle has a stamped arrow, indicating the slide position relative to the weapon body to disassemble the weapon.

The rear end of the slide and weapon body are marked by BNP with a crown representing verification mark of the British State Testing Laboratory in Birmingham. Below that is vaguely marked maybe CB and number 3 in a circle, which could be the inspection mark of the Birmingham testing laboratory worker. A BNP marking with a crown on the barrel in the cartridge ejection port .380.680´´ in the second line 6 TONS PER □´´, in addition to the verification mark of the Birmingham testing facility indicates the caliber, cartridge length and pressure in tons.

Wooden milled grip panels with dovetail are corresponding. A round stamped logo with a prancing horse is inserted into the grip panels on both sides Magazine corresponding to the manufacture year, blackened with blue reflection. Marked CAL.380 COLT on the bottom.
